Teen Scene Advice

Being a teenager isn't just about about spots and worrying, it is a time of going through rapid changes, physically and emotionally. These changes, combined with being alive in a time in which it is a most difficult and confusing time to be a teenager, can mean making the change from childhood to adulthood a troubling experience.

The links listed here are to websites and resources which attempt to provide support and confidence to young people who are faced with a bewildering amount of influences and choices. Please remember, there is someone out there who will listen to YOU, not always Mum & Dad but a friend, a teacher but they can't help you if they don't know what's wrong.

BENEFITS

Useful Information.....Did you know that…..

there is an Act of Parliament that Under section 187 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992: apparently, this makes it a criminal offence for banks to take bank charges out of the accounts of people who are entirely dependent on social security benefits.

so if your bank has taken charges out of your Benefits eg:

if you are in receipt of any of the following benefits.
Income Support
Tax Credits
Child Benefit
Job seekers allowance
Incapacity benefit
Disability living allowance
Attendance Allowance
CSA payments
Other DWP payments.

which means:
That the bank can not apply any charges to money received as benefit, and any such charges are unlawful and therefore disallowed.

BEREAVEMENT

The loss of a loved one through death is an experience that most of us will endure at some time in our lives. There are probably as many different ways that the grief caused by bereavement is felt and expressed as there are individuals who grieve.

Perhaps we could begin to accept that death is a part of the life-cycle. Perhaps, when death does effect us, the sharing of experience and emotion, rather than its suppression, can help with a personal bereavement or can help us bring comfort to others.

A Royal College of Psychiatrists Website.
