About Me...

Welcome to my website, I'm Jo and I'm based in South Yorkshire.

Inspired by the films Yanks (1979) and The War Bride (2001), where people had to ‘make do and mend’ by re-using fabrics to create new items and so my interest in sewing and recycling began.

More about me ...

So I started off making patchwork cushion covers from velvet scraps, progressing to making a cot quilt and bumper set for my son's 1st birthday. Then handmade presents for family and friends. I wanted to learn more, going to sewing classes a few years later making clothes and curtains but otherwise I'm self-taught.
I recycle curtains and clothes, occasionally buying new fabrics, to create one off individual items.

The gallery pages feature a range of items such as shoulder bags, shopping bags, messenger bags, homeware items such as peg bags, table runners and more, any fabric left from projects I create patchwork quilts, rag quilts, bookmarks, keyrings, lavender hearts and braided rugs.
Handmade in Yorkshire, no 'stock' photos are used, the photo's you see are the items I've made. Prices include pockets, zips and magnetic fasteners, I don't charge extra for these!

I started off selling on Etsy and I've recently re-opened my Folksy shop.

 Buttercup Bag

In 2013, I hope to expand my range of items with some new designs for my smaller items and some new bags as I have a commercial licence to make and sell Buttercup and Lickety Split Bags by

Rae Hoestra. I sell other patterns, some of which are my own designs, I only make one bag out of every fabric I have, so what you buy will be one of a kind.
